Pedestrian killed after being struck by SUV while crossing street in west Houston

A pedestrian was killed after he was struck by an SUV while crossing a street in west Houston on Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department. (KPRC)

HOUSTON – A pedestrian was killed after he was struck by an SUV while crossing a street in west Houston on Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police received a call about a crash on Westheimer Road and Greenridge Drive at approximately 10:45 p.m.

A man had been crossing the street and heading north across Westheimer, and he was hit by an SUV that had been traveling west on the street.

The pedestrian died on the scene.

The driver remained at the location and cooperated with officers.

A witness also told police the pedestrian did not use the crosswalk, but this is being investigated. Authorities also do not believe the driver was intoxicated.
