Gonzalez said a small four-door vehicle was traveling southbound on Wright Road and the vehicle may have briefly veered into the northbound lane.
The driver tried to regain control of the car, but ended up leaving the roadway, striking a series of fence poles at a curve before striking another fence and stopping.
Gonzalez said a male passenger in the backseat was ejected from the car and died at the scene. A female passenger who was also in the backseat was taken to a hospital where she died.
Two other males, the driver and front passenger, were taken by helicopter to a hospital in critical condition.
“It’s a devastating crash scene,” Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez also said it appears speed was a factor in the crash and all the occupants of the vehicle appear to be young, between the ages of 15 and 20. It also appears that both the male and female in the backseat as well as the driver were not wearing seat belts.
“Our condolences go out to the family members, we know they are going to be obviously devastated,” Gonzalez said.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
