The Houston Police Department, Houston Fire, and UHD PD were called to the scene at the Buffalo Bayou Trail under Main St. a little after 3:15 a.m.

Responding crews found what appears to be an SUV on the Union Pacific Lines, but no one was inside the vehicle so no injuries were reported. Officials say the train extends down the line, back across San Jacinto, across the freeway, and back toward St. Arnold’s Brewery. However, the train’s length is unknown as well as how far back crossings are closed.

As a result of the train crash, traffic is expected to cause an impact downtown and all court county buildings are reportedly cut off from I-10 until the vehicle is removed and the train can continue moving.
