Where is Kristen? It’s a question that’s haunted Robyn Cory every day since her daughter went missing at just 15 years old.

The saga began in 2019, when Spring teenager Kristen Galvan was found on the Bissonnet Track the first time she disappeared. The area was known for human trafficking and prostitution, but the Houston Police Department began cracking down on crime there last year.

Cory said her daughter was not the same when she returned. Weeks later, on Jan. 2, 2020, she disappeared again.

Since then, Cory has made it her mission to bring her daughter home. In the process, she has helped find and rescue several other missing girls.

Mayor John Whitmire and Councilmember Mary Nan Huffman honored Cory at Houston City Hall Monday, recognizing her efforts to stop human trafficking in her daughter’s name.

She was presented with a proclamation, which declared April 23, Kristen’s birthday, as “Kiki’s Day.”

“Tomorrow will be Kristen’s 20th birthday. She’ll be forever 15 in our hearts until she’s home,” Cory said.

Kristen’s mother believes her daughter is being held by traffickers in what she calls a case of “modern day slavery”.

Unfortunately, leads on Kristen’s whereabouts have begun to run out.

“I really thought child trafficking or human trafficking existed in poor countries. I never imagined this happening in America, let alone my own backyard,” Cory said.

“These monsters literally groomed and lured my child out of our home. While we have four monsters that have been convicted and sentenced in Houston, thank God, the question still remains, where’s Kristen?”

On Monday, April 29, we’ll sit down with Cory to learn more about her fight to finally answer that question, as part of our Missing in Houston series.

If you know anything about where Kristen may be, you’re asked to call the FBI Houston field office at 713-693-5000.
