HOUSTON – Houstonians are proud individuals who take pride in the city’s rich culture and delectable cuisines. In the heart of this sprawling metropolis, ‘Our Town’ shines as a beacon of communal spirit and shared identity.

With more than four million people living here, it’s understandable that some may not yet have discovered the hidden treasures of our vibrant neighborhoods.

At KPRC 2, we’re dedicated to bridging this gap, committed to assisting Houstonians in navigating their everyday lives while showcasing the distinctive charm of each community.

In our ongoing series, ‘Our Town,’ we embark on a journey through ten diverse neighborhoods, spotlighting what makes each one exceptional.

In February, we set our sights on Alief/Westwood. With more than 100 languages spoken in the area, we explored why the area is becoming a vibrant place to be for business, fun, and a place to live.

In April, we visited the more than 100-year-old neighborhood of Sunnyside where urban farmers are battling food insecurity, folks have high water bills, and issues with developers building in restricted areas.

Now, as May approaches, the KPRC 2 crew is taking ‘Our Town’ to Acres Homes. We welcome your thoughts below. Share what makes Acres Homes special, any challenges you’re dealing with, and how we can help. Let’s celebrate ‘Our Town’ together and strengthen our community ties.
