HOUSTON – A woman is dead after she was shot in the head during an argument outside a gas station in southeast Houston and police are searching for her brother in connection to the crime.
According to police, the shooting took place at the 8100 block of Martin Luther King Blvd at around 10 p.m.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they located a woman with a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency officials with the Houston Fire Department arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
HPD identified the victim as Sarah Taplin, 24. Her brother, Richard Taplin, 35, is currently wanted and has been charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carry of a weapon.
HPD says Sarah Taplin was in an argument with another woman in a parking lot. Richard Taplin allegedly took a gun from someone nearby, pointed it at the unidentified woman and fired it at her as she ran away.
HPD says Richard Taplin was also firing indiscriminately into the crowded gas station parking lot across the street. During the shooting, HPD said Sarah Taplin was struck at least once. She died from her injuries and Richard fled the scene. He is considered armed and dangerous.
