HOUSTON – A nationwide recall has been issued for more than 85,000 pounds of ready-to-eat sliced prosciutto ham, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced.
According to a press release from the USDA’s website, ConSup North America Inc. is recalling a total of 85,984 pounds of Stockmeyer Prosciutto ham.

The USDA says the Germany-based products are being recalled because many were sent out without undergoing proper inspection.
“The problem was discovered when Germany’s Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety notified FSIS that H. Klümper GmbH & Co. KG, a Germany establishment, produced a portion of the identified lots without the benefit of equivalent inspection and exported them to the U.S. for distribution,” the release states.
The sliced prosciutto ham was produced on various dates beginning from September 25, 2023, through March 6, 2024. To date, there have not been any confirmed reports of adverse reactions when consuming these products, the USDA said, but residents who have purchased it are asked to throw it away or return the product to where they bought it.
Additionally, anyone who may be concerned about a reaction, the USDA said, should reach out to their healthcare provider.
