Details surrounding the entire incident are limited, so there is not a lot of information available. From what we know, the Waller County Sheriff’s Office said via Facebook that in early June officers with the Navasota PD got a call requesting a welfare check on an unidentified man in Waller, Texas.

Moments later, officers with Waller PD told Navasota PD the man was found dead and turned the investigation over to the Sheriff’s Office to investigate as a homicide.

It’s unclear how he died but days later, deputies said they reviewed and collected enough evidence to name Joshua Land, the man’s son, a suspect and filed murder charges against him.

No additional information has been shared, so it’s unclear if Joshua Land is in custody, but an investigation continues.
