HOUSTON – There’s no dancing around the topic: it’s hot in Houston!
Temperatures are flirting with triple digits daily while the “feels-like” temperatures are soaring well into the 100s. Just step outside and you’re nearly smacked in the face with a double whammy of heat and humidity.

Luckily, we can hide inside in the cool air conditioning. Plus, when we’re outside we have access to places to cool down - like a swimming pool for instance.
Wildlife only has access to one of those. And it’s not air conditioning.
On two separate occasions over the last week, Montrose resident Mark Dykes caught a group of raccoons swimming in his backyard pool.
Yes, raccoons swimming in circles in his backyard pool like they were there to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Both of the instances were recorded and shared on the neighborhood website NextDoor. Each video garnered hundreds of likes and even more colorful comments.
“So cute,” said one resident. “Looks like they are having the time of their lives.”
After much fanfare and fun, the raccoons seem to have dried off and made their way to their next destination.
