CenterPoint now expects 85% of impacted customers to have power restored by end of weekend

HOUSTON – As the fifth day without power concludes for many Houstonians, CenterPoint Energy has released an additional update of their projected results for the upcoming weekend.

In a media release, CenterPoint announced that it now expects to restore power to roughly 85% of impacted customers by the end of the weekend—or the end of the day on July 14.

This additional development comes after a press release Friday morning, where the company projected to have 80% of impacted customers’ power restored by Sunday.

“Despite this afternoon’s weather, we are building on our momentum and currently restoring power at a stronger pace than we previously expected,” said Lynnae Wilson, Senior Vice President, Electric Business. “We are deeply grateful to the men and women who are working tirelessly in hot, humid and stormy conditions to restore power to every last customer. As crews continue to work as safely and as quickly as possible, we ask for our community’s help in keeping them safe.”
