Kids’ Meals Inc. responds to increased demand after Hurricane Beryl

In the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, Kids’ Meals Inc. has stepped up to meet the immediate needs of families and children affected by the storm.

The organization, which has been delivering free, healthy meals directly to the homes of hungry children since 2006, has seen an unprecedented surge in demand.

Last week, in just three days, Kids’ Meals added 113 children to their program, a significant increase driven by the needs of the community. With schools out for the summer, the organization is now feeding more than 15,000 children each weekday.

The increased demand has led to additional expenses, including staff overtime, extra gas costs, and a higher need for food and water supplies. Any support for disaster relief is being quickly utilized to address these urgent needs.

During hurricane season, Kids’ Meals produces a greater number of shelf-stable lunches to have on hand. Donations through the organization’s Amazon Wish List have been particularly helpful in sustaining their relief efforts.
