‘Friends for Life’ animal rescue group gets big boost following Beryl damage, donor pledges to match future donations

After an animal shelter in the Heights suffered damage during Hurricane Beryl, a Good Samaritan decided to help out in a huge way.

After a viewer saw KPRC 2′s report on the damage sustained by the Friends for Life animal shelter, he decided to step up and help out.

The Good Samaritan presented Friends for Life with a check for $1,000 to spend on the animals’ needs. He also pledged to match up to another $1,000 if fellow Houstonians are able to raise $1,000 or more.

“[Animals] depend on us to take care of them,” the donor said. “Everyone needs to band together and take care of the animals in this city.
