Dump truck crashes into METRORail train in southwest Houston, injuring 2 passengers and operator

HOUSTON – Three people were hospitalized Friday afternoon after a dump truck crashed into a METRORail train in southwest Houston.

The accident was reported on Naomi and Fannin Street.

SKY 2 aerials show the dump truck side-by-side the red line train with scattered rocks on the ground.

Officials said two passengers and the train operator were taken to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries are unknown.

A shuttle bus responded to the scene to transport the other passengers.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
