It happened a little after 9:45 p.m. when police were called to the 7400 block of Bissonnet St. and found an unidentified pedestrian dead in the roadway. Initial details from the Houston Police Department are the pedestrian was walking across the street towards an apartment complex.
That’s when a driver heading eastbound hit the pedestrian in the moving lanes of traffic. Investigators said the driver continued for several blocks before stopping to call 911.
SUGGESTED: Harris County inmates, accomplices charged with money laundering, organized crime
Authorities say they were able to bring that driver back to the scene and detained them. We’re told the driver did not show signs of intoxication, however, because they didn’t initially stop and stay close to the pedestrian, police say they could face charges for “Failure to Stop and Render Aid.”
No additional information has been shared, as of this writing, but an investigation continues.
