Man dies after falling between 2 rail cars while getting off METRORail train, getting hit in Medical Center area

HOUSTON – Authorities say a man is dead after being hit by a METRORail train in the area near the Texas Medical Center.

According to METRO Police, the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. at a station at 6950 Fannin Street.

Police say the man was getting off the train when he fell onto the tracks between two rail cars. The train then started leaving the station, running over the man.

The man died from his injuries.

Rail service has been suspended between the Medical Center and Hermann Park. Buses are being used to get passengers between the two stops.
