Cash App ordered to pay $15M in fraud settlement. Here’s how you can submit a claim

HOUSTON, Texas – You could have money coming your way - if you’ve recently used Cash App. A class-action lawsuit settlement ordered Cash App to pay customers impacted by fraud. I’ve heard from a lot of you who fell victim to some type of fraud on the app.

A group of Cash App users claim Cash App and its owner, Block, were:

  • Negligent in responding to two big data breaches
  • Didn’t have proper security controls
  • Didn’t respond to concerns about fraudulent transactions

Cash App was ordered to pay out $15 million in damages.

If users had unauthorized or fraudulent withdraws or transfers of funds from their Cash App account after August 23, 2018, they are eligible to submit a claim for up to $2,500.

The Claim Form must be submitted no later than November 18, 2024.

Cash App settlement and how to see if you can apply for a refund:

1. Check Eligibility:

- Ensure that you had unauthorized or fraudulent withdrawals or transfers from your Cash App account after August 23, 2018.

2. Gather Documentation:

- Collect any evidence of fraudulent transactions, such as bank statements, screenshots of notifications, or correspondence with Cash App.

3. Submit a Claim Form:

- Visit the official settlement website.

- Complete the Claim Form with required personal and transaction details.

4. Deadline:

- Submit your Claim Form by November 18, 2024.
