HOUSTON – After widespread of criticism over power outages during Hurricane Beryl, CenterPoint Energy is working to restore it’s image.
The company’s latest efforts includes highlighting a partnership with “Trees For Houston,” which makes sure the right types of trees are planted in the right places around the Houston area.
Trees For Houston is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to planting, protecting and promoting trees.
The organization received money from CenterPoint Energy to make this program possible. It focuses on educating the community about the importance of planting native trees, which are more resilient to local weather conditions.
As part of the effort, Trees For Houston is working to ensure that power line friendly trees are planted in the right places, reducing the risk of future outages.
