Houston mother faces charges for leaving kids unattended at busy intersection to finish shopping

A Houston mother is facing charges after allegedly leaving her three children unattended at a busy intersection for over an hour while she shopped nearby.

On Aug. 24, Charoc Judit Morales Galvez allegedly left her three children, ages 9, 11, and 15, alone at the intersection of 4500 Airline Dr. and 4500 North Freeway in Houston.

The children were left unattended for over an hour while Galvez continued shopping at a nearby Fiesta Mart.

Authorities claim that Galvez spoke with police but did not return to her children immediately, leaving them in a dangerous situation on a busy roadway. She is now facing charges of abandoning a child with intent to return.
