Homeowner escapes after house catches fire, firefighters say (Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston - All rights reserved.)

HOUSTON – A house caught on fire in northwest Houston on Tuesday, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a house with heavy fire to the front breezeway just before 10 p.m. in the 900 block of Drane St. near White Oak Bayou Greenway Trail.

The fire appeared to have started in the residence’s breezeway but moved towards the garage, according to Assistant Fire Chief Scott Raider.

Firefighters made a fast approach to prevent the fire from entering the house and said the homeowner was able to make it out of the house safely.

Firefighters have not confirmed what caused the blaze, but arson investigators were called to the scene.
