A Houston man who was wanted on charges related to the stabbing of his ex-girlfriend is now behind bars.
Oscar Daniel Vega Espinoza, 34, has been charged with murder and tampering of evidence for the killing, which occurred on the morning of Aug. 17. He was arrested by deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 27 without incident and booked into the Harris County Jail.

The victim’s body was found submerged near the Brays Bayou Greenway Trail embankment in southeastern Houston. Officials observed the body had multiple stab wounds. Further investigation into the victim’s background allowed Vega Espinoza to be identified as the primary suspect in the murder.
The identity of the 30-year-old victim has not been released at this time.
