Jersey Village man arrested after sexual chats, planned meeting with child under 14

A Jersey Village man is in custody after showing up to meet a child following a sexually-charged chat.

Roberto Garcia Jr., 31, had an explicit conversation with a minor under the age of 14, according to the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office. When he was trying to ask the child to meet up, investigators say, he was actually meeting officers within Montgomery County.

During the encounter, Garcia was successfully apprehended by investigators and deputies. He was placed under arrest and char67ged with online solicitation of a minor under 14 years of age with intent to engage in sexual contact, a second-degree felony. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance as well as marijuana.

Garcia is being held in Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Jail on a combined bond of $23,000.
