Was your car damaged or destroyed during Hurricane Beryl? If so, you may be eligible for FEMA relief on expenses not covered by insurance.

FEMA may be able to help you repair or replace your car. The vehicle’s damage must have been caused by Beryl, and the relief only applies to damage that prevents the car from being operable or safe to drive. If your damage is only cosmetic, you will have to find another way to pay for it!

FEMA assistance is also usually limited to one car per household. If you own a second functional vehicle, you must clarify in writing that the damaged vehicle is essential to your family’s daily use.

Your vehicle must also be state-registered and meet insurance requirements. The relief only applies to owned or leased cars—not rentals—and it must be an approved vehicle type, such as a car, truck, van or SUV.
