HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside a vehicle early Thursday morning in south of Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police were notified about the shooting at 5:10 a.m. and responded to 3211 Rosedale St., near Lockhart Elementary School.

According to police, the 21-year-old woman was found in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. She died from at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
According to police, a 21-year-old man told detectives at the scene that he and the woman were involved in an argument and that when she tried to run him over with the vehicle, he shot at her, fatally striking her. The vehicle then crashed into a curb.
The investigation is continuing. No charges have been filed at this time
Lockhart Elementary School Principal Emerson said the campus made adjustments to its morning drop-off access due to the nearby crime scene.
“Students and staff are safe and law enforcement has assured us there is no threat to the community,” Emerson stated in a letter sent to parents.
