After a deadly shooting at an apartment on Aldine Bender, authorities have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for the woman’s death.
The shooting happened early on the morning of Sept. 16 at the Haverstock Apartments in the 5600 block of Aldine Bender, near the Eastex Freeway.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office detectives found 55-year-old Andrea Denkins dead from a gunshot wound. Her body was inside one of the apartment units.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, several guests, including 24-year-old Desman Govan, were inside the apartment when the woman was shot.
On Sept. 16, members of the Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT) arrested Govan, who has since been charged with murder in connection with Denkins’ death.
Govan is currently in custody at the Harris County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
