Driver killed in Deer Park after crash from driving on wrong side of road

A driver was killed near the Deer Park area after a wreck with a car driving towards oncoming traffic on the highway.

According to authorities with Deer Park PD, the collision occurred just before 1:15 a.m. on Saturday on SH-225 Eastbound, and two vehicles were involved.

One person was declared dead in the hours following the wreck. DPPD didn’t specify whether the person who was killed was in the car that was driving into traffic.

All mainlines and both shoulders on SH-255 were closed following the crash. The highway was cleared just after 7 a.m.

The identities and circumstances of the accident are currently unknown. We’ll provide updates when we have access to more information.
