13-year-old student charged with terroristic threat against Willis ISD schools

A Lynn Lucas Middle School student is facing felony charges after admitting to making threats against several Willis Independent School District schools via Snapchat.

The student admitted to being responsible for the recent social media threats made against Willis High School, Brabham Middle School, and Lynn Lucas Middle School.

The student now faces charges of making a terroristic threat, a third-degree felony.

While the motive remains unclear, authorities have confirmed that the student did not have access to firearms.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the child’s parent is fully cooperating with law enforcement, and the investigation is ongoing.

“We want to emphasize that any threats of violence are taken with the utmost seriousness,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement on Facebook. “Such actions are not jokes and will result in full legal consequences to ensure accountability and maintain the safety of our schools.”

The sheriff’s office thanked the Willis ISD community, including students, families, and educators, for their cooperation throughout the investigation. Officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring a safe learning environment for all students and staff, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and quick response.
