New helpline number for those affected by Energy Transfer pipeline fire in Deer Park

DEER PARK, Texas – Those affected by the Energy Transfer pipeline fire in Deer Park and La Porte need to know the number for the helpline has changed.

The company set up a helpline for those affected by the fire to call and report losses to.

The number has changed to 833-226-3340, according to the Deer Park Police Department.

The fire started last Monday after a SUV crashed into a valve attached to the pipeline. The fire burned for more than three days before finally going out Thursday.

The fire caused serious damage throughout the Deer Park community. The flames were so intense that they melted the shingles off of nearby roofs and the plastic off of people’s cars.

Human remains were found in the car that was responsible for causing the explosion, and a criminal investigation is underway to determine who the driver was and how such a catastrophic incident ever unfolded.
