FEMA deadline coming up to apply for Hurricane Beryl assistance

If you were impacted by Hurricane Beryl earlier this year, there’s still time to apply for FEMA relief.

FEMA announced that the deadline to apply for Beryl assistance is Thursday, Oct. 10.

The deadline to apply for a Small Business Administration Disaster loan is also Oct. 10.

Although FEMA assistance is limited to basic needs, aid may be available for personal property that was uninsured or underinsured at the time of the storm. Personal properties include clothes, computers and home appliances.

Here are some ways you can apply for disaster assistance:

  • Apply online here.
  • Download the FEMA App for mobile devices.
  • Call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. CT. Help is available in most languages.
  • Visit a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC). Recovery centers are open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To find a center near you, go here.

According to the recovery update, FEMA has already approved more than $751 million in relief across 695,932 households in Texas. The assistance spans 22 impacted counties.
