Lt. Charles Freeman, a dedicated firefighter with over a decade of service at the Montgomery County Emergency Services District 2 Fire Department has died after a months-long battle with a medical emergency.
Freeman was hospitalized following, what was only described by officials as, a medical emergency shortly after finishing his shift on July 9.

Freeman worked at MCESD#2 from 2010 to 2024.
In a heartfelt statement, MCESD#2 expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community, saying:
“Montgomery County ESD#2 is grateful for all the support shown to our family and his family during this time. Please keep the Freeman family, and the men and women of MCESD#2 in your thoughts and prayers.”
Arrangements for his memorial service will be announced once finalized.
