Former Pct. 4 deputy constable accused of sexually assaulting 2 women

Ray Alexander Thompson appeared in Court Friday

A former Harris County deputy constable has been charged with two counts of sexual assault after nearly two-year investigation.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office said Ray Alexander Thompson, 39, used his position to intimidate his victims.

Thompson is physically imposing, standing 6′3″ and weighing 300 pounds.

“This is a man that is using his badge to execute his crime, and that is something that we should be very scared of,” Kimberly Smith, a Harris County District Assistant, said Friday.

The Deputy resigned in November 2022 after just seven months on the job according to his former boss, Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman.

Herman, who declined a KPRC 2 Investigates request for an on-camera interview Friday, said that his office launched an internal affairs investigation after another law enforcement agency tipped him that the deputy was suspect in a sexual assault.

That first sexual assault happened in October 2022. The 18-year-old female victim, who delayed reporting the incident, said that Thompson was in uniform. Thompson had an extra job in the area.

The second victim was a single mother with a young child, who Thompson encountered.

That woman, according to Smith, woke up in motel room, unclear what had happened. However, she reported the incident immediately. Smith said Friday, that the second case includes DNA evidence.

Neither sexual assault occurred while Thompson was on duty, according to Smith.

“The allegations are very serious, but we believe them to be false, and we look forward to fighting this case in court. We have known about this investigation for about two years,” David Kiatta, Thompson’s Defense Attorney said.

Friday, Thompson was released after posting $50,000 bond. He has a court date in December.

“We believe that there are not just two, that there are multiple women out there who could have been victimized by this defendant. So, please, if you recognize him, if you know anything, please come forward,” Smith said.
