After receiving information on a vehicle Becerra was suspected of riding in, special agents from the McAllen area coordinated with Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Office deputies to locate the car and initiate the stop.
Becerra had been wanted since January of 2024 for a suspected armed robbery, but he has a lengthy criminal history dating back at least a decade. Back in 2014, Becerra was convicted of assault of a family member by impeding circulation and sentenced to 10 years of probation. His probation was revoked in 2020, and he was sentenced to two years in prison. Now, he’s back behind bars.
Crime Stoppers confirmed that a reward will be paid out for the information that led to the arrest.
In 2024 alone, $19,000 has been paid out in rewards for tips that led to the arrests of Texas fugitives. To submit a tip on a different case, you can contact Crime Stoppers online here or call the hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
