Man shoots neighbor who forced way inside, accused him of calling police

Houston police are investigating after an elderly resident shot a young man who allegedly forced his way into the resident’s home and made threats. (Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston - All rights reserved.)

An elderly Houston resident shot and wounded a neighbor who forced his way into his apartment and threatened to kill him, police say.

The shooting happened just after midnight in the 12200 block of Eldridge Parkway in west Houston.

According to investigators, a young man knocked on the door of his elderly neighbor’s home. When the elderly resident opened the door, the man allegedly accused him of calling the police.

The situation escalated when the man forced his way into the residence and threatened to kill the elderly homeowner.

Fearing for his life, the elderly resident retrieved a firearm and fired multiple shots, striking the intruder at least twice.

The wounded man was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. His condition has not been released.

No further information has been provided at this time.
