Police investigating man’s death after he drove car into Houston bayou

Officials in Houston are investigating the circumstances of a fatal car crash in Houston last week.

The collision occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, near 4300 North MacGregor Way, just south of the University of Houston campus.

A man was leaving his driveway behind the wheel of a gray Nissan Rogue. For an unknown reason, his vehicle continued across the street, drove through a grassy area and a sidewalk, and down into a bayou embankment.

Paramedics with Houston Fire Department arrived at the scene and worked to remove the driver from the car, and he was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. On Dec. 1, the man was pronounced dead.

The man’s identity has not been released, but authorities revealed that he was a 67-year-old man. The investigation is ongoing.
