At first, many, like myself, might think there’s a shooting or feel startled by the unexpected sounds. Fireworks are a spectacle we typically associate with New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day... but Christmas?
In the Houston area, fireworks are flying off the shelves as people gear up to welcome the new year with a bang. Yet, it seems many are eager to ignite their celebrations early, lighting up the night sky on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
While these vibrant displays are undeniably beautiful against the backdrop of a winter night, they are something I’m not accustomed to seeing on Christmas. Is this a new tradition taking root, or am I simply out of touch with the evolving ways we celebrate?
