HOUSTON – Two people were injured after a fight broke out and gunshots were fired on Houston’s southside Wednesday.
The shooting happened at 1030 Almeda-Genoa Road outside a gas station. One of the men injured ran to a nearby store.
The Houston Police Department says five people were involved in a fight and at least two people started shooting.
One of the men was shot in the stomach while the other received what authorities are calling a graze wound after a bullet shattered his phone in his pocket and caused an injury to his leg.
The two men were transported to the hospital and are expected to survive.
Police are looking at surveillance video and talking to witnesses to determine whether the suspect fled on foot or in a white sedan.
