Students fight in high school cafeteria

Fight breaks out at Andy Dekaney High School

HOUSTON – Police were called out to a north Harris County high school after a fight broke out in the school's cafeteria.

The fight at Dekaney High School on Imperial Valley Drive started about 11 a.m. on Friday.

Students said it started as a clash between two groups of girls and it quickly spread.

"Everybody started fighting and stuff," student Ernest Clark said. "Girls just started fighting. It just got loud. It got crazy."

One student recorded the fight with the camera on his cellphone and he posted it on Facebook.

The melee was enough to cause Spring Independent School District police to intervene. A school district spokeswoman said only four students were involved, but the video showed that there were more.

Parents heard about the fight by word of mouth, and many pulled their children out of school early.

"I found out there was several different riots going on," mother Melinda Bradley said. "I came to pick up my son. I left work to pick up my son. This is the second time this week."

No injuries were reported.
