HOUSTON – Houston police said they arrested a motorcycle rider on charges of felony evasion after he sped away from officers during a traffic stop Saturday morning in west Houston.
Officials with the Houston Police Department said the rider was going nearly 70 mph on Westheimer Road, when an officer tried to pull him over around 2:15 a.m.
The motorcycle rider made several U-turns before heading toward Beltway 8. Investigators said the man then lost control and laid down his motorcycle to avoid crashing.
The rider was not injured.
