Motorcyclist killed after accident on Highway 59

HOUSTON – A 36-year-old man on a motorcycle was killed in an accident Friday.

The crash happened at about 5:10p.m. Friday in the northbound lanes of Highway 59 at Greenbriar Drive, according to the Houston Police Department.

Jacob Marshall was pronounced dead at the scene.

Houston police released a statement that read in part: "The victim was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on the Southwest Freeway and weaving in and out of traffic.  The victim failed to control his speed and struck the rear of a black Ford edge sport utility vehicle, also traveling northbound.  The victim was then transported to the hospital where he died.  The driver of the Ford was not injured."

Marshall is survived by his wife and two daughters, ages 5 and 8.
