HOUSTON – After 15 months of renovations the new and improved Allen Parkway has reopened to drivers.
The Downtown Redevelopment Authority and the city of Houston celebrated the grand reopening with a ceremony Thursday morning.

The renovated project includes a number of new upgrades, including 132 new parking spaces along Buffalo Bayou between Taft and Sabine streets, as well as quicker connections to the north and southbound I-45 entrance ramps.
New light signals have been installed at the intersections at Dunlavy, Taft and Gillette streets and Park Vista Drive.
The renovations cost $10 million.
