HOUSTON – In Harris County, voters had cast their ballot in the District Attorney race during the March 5, 2024 primary elections.
Incumbent Kim Ogg trailed challenger Sean Teare in the Democratic nomination. She conceded Tuesday night while speaking to her supporters Tuesday night.
Ogg highlighted her track record of criminal justice reform and commitment to transparency, while challenger Sean Teare emphasized a tough-on-crime stance coupled with progressive approaches to address rising crime rates.
According to a newly released poll from The Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston, the Democratic primary race for Harris County’s next District Attorney may not be “too close to call.”
The poll revealed Sean Teare holding a commanding 38% point lead over the incumbent, Kim Ogg. It also showed “59% of likely voters intend to vote for Sean Teare, while only 21% favor incumbent Kim Ogg, with 20% still undecided.”
The polls opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 7 p.m. on Election Day.
