Comal River-goers find body while floating on Fourth of July

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The New Braunfels Police Department is investigating a man's death after Fourth of July river-goers found a body while floating the Comal River.

First responders were dispatched to the 300 block of South Gilbert Avenue just after 11 a.m. for reports of a possible drowning. There, the group told police they found a man unconscious and not breathing in the water.

Lifesaving measures were attempted, NBPD said in a statement. 

The man's death remains under investigation pending autopsy results.
