The bonfire had been a long-standing Aggie tradition until the deadly incident.
The original bonfire consisted of millions of pounds of timber assembled in a 59-foot structure which was lit to the delight of thousands of campus spectators.
The tradition ended with the 1999 collapse. A shorter bonfire with design changes is now built during off-campus events.
