FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A shelter-in-place order was in place for a couple hours Wednesday afternoon around the scene of a massive fire near the Sugar Land area.
The fire was reported about 2:15 p.m. at 9700 Richmond Gaines Road, near Bissonnet Street. The fire has since been deemed under control.
According to Lt. Steven McDonald, Fort Bend County Fire Marshal's Office, two stacks of fiberglass casings caught fire in lot in the back of CIMA VIP Business Park.
"From what we're told, basically they form an encasing that floats in the ocean. They run [oil] transmission lines through them," McDonald said.

Fort Bend County officials also said that two vehicles located near the fiberglass stacks burned.
Because of thick, black smoke that was produced by the fire, people were ordered to stay indoors within a half-mile of the scene, firefighters said.
Firefighters said no injuries were reported.
Some callers to the KPRC 2 newsroom reported hearing explosions.
Deputies said that some roads in the area were closed.
