NEW ORLEANS – Parts of New Orleans were flooded after a few hours of rain Sunday.
Some neighborhoods 8-10 inches of rain.
The rain pounded the city at an average rate of 1-2 inches per hour, which overwhelmed the city's pump stations.
Deputy Mayor Ryan Berni said the city has no immediate plans to request an emergency declaration from the state, but that could change as the city collects more information on flood damage.
The rain has stopped for now, but with heavy rains in the forecast Monday. Officials said the city's pumping capacity could be overwhelmed again.
