Even though we are under burn bans, at least in Galveston County this does not include fireworks. On Bolivar Peninsula people shoot off fireworks year round and with the drought conditions right now it is not a good idea to shoot fireworks. We have had the dunes set fire several times just recently. One fire was moving toward a number of houses. The three fire departments down here are doing what they can but they need the help of the people by not shooting fireworks until conditions improve.
