HOUSTON – You know those ads that pop up in your social media feeds? The ones that somehow know what you’ve been posting, searching on Google and buying? Well, an advertisement for Astros World Series-inspired wine just showed up on a KPRC 2 producer’s Facebook timeline.
Erica Young is obsessed with the Astros and she is equally obsessed with wine. The ad prompted Young to do some research and compile a boozy list dedicated to the 2017 World Champions.

A nice red for "Orange Nation"
Mano’s Wine pays tribute to the 2017 World Series champs with a 2014 California red created from grapes sourced from Central Coast and Lodi vineyards. It has hints of blackberry, tobacco, vanilla and victory.
Party like you're at Club Astros
You can buy a sparkling wine with the Astros seal of approval. Wine by Design, the exclusive wine licensee of Major League Baseball, has partnered with Rack & Riddle to offer a limited-edition World Series Championship Brut. (American flag speedo not included)
Home run cocktails
If wine isn’t your thing, there are several spots around town still offering Astros-inspired cocktails. Bosscat Kitchen & Libations near Highland Village put something called “Orbit Juice” on the menu during the World Series. We called, and it’s still being served. The modified Paloma is a nod to the all-mighty Astros and their fluffy mascot.
Have an Altuve
The JW Marriott Houston Downtown has the “MVP Altuve,” a Texas-themed margarita that came about because of a bet made during the World Series between the Houston hotel and its Los Angeles counterpart. The wager was if we won the series, the JW L.A. Live would have to serve the Altuve-inspired drink. Well, we won. And they are serving it on the West Coast. But the Houston hotel offers it too!
'Stros-cones and 'Stros-tails
There’s already a lot of buzz over East End Hardware in Eado. They make boozy sno-balls, for goodness sakes! What more could you want? How about one of their Astros-inspired concoctions they started making for the World Series. We called, and they’re still doing it! One is a ‘StroCone. It’s a citrus fruit punch creation mixed with rum. They also make drinks in honor of different players. Each drink has a tiny cut-out of the player’s head on top.
Just beer me
Okay, so maybe wine and cocktails aren’t your thing. You can always celebrate all things Astros at 8th Wonder Brewery. They serve two beers that are a nod to where the Astros got their start - The Astrodome. The “Dome Faux’m” is a throwback cream ale that is available year-round. And Astroturf is a limited-release, dry-hopped cream ale.
