HOUSTON – The University of Houston staff allowed media-exclusive entry into the ongoing construction site of the future Fertitta Center, formerly known as Hofheinz Pavilion, on Monday.
The Fertitta Center will be the future home of University of Houston basketball teams and various other school functions.
Currently, the site is being renovated into a modern-day sports venue fit for the University of Houston's audience of today.

The exterior part of the roof is being preserved from the 50-year-old venue. The entrance experience and the presentation interior, as well as exterior of the new building, will be completely updated.
Other improvements include a new seating layout, VIP amenities and audio visual presentation for the audience.
Construction is expected to be completed by December 2018.
