5 Astros named to American League All-Star team

HOUSTON – Five Houston Astros have been named to the American League All-Star team.

Second Baseman Jose Altuve will start the Midsummer Classic in his 8th All-Star appearance, while Justin Verlander has a chance to be the starting pitcher in his 9th All-Star appearance.

Left-handed starting pitcher Framber Valdez, Designated Hitter Yordan Alvarez, and Outfielder Kyle Tucker were all named to their first All-Star game as reserves.
