HOUSTON – Colorado State edge Mohamed Kamara, a rising draft prospect, visited the Texans on Thursday, per a league source.
Kamara excelled at the East-West Shrine Bowl all-star game and at the NFL scouting combine.

The Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year has run the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds with a 1.58 10-yard split and a 10-3 broad jump with 23 bench press reps. The 6-foot-1 3/8, 248-pounder had a 4.49 20-yard shuttle and a 7.34 three-cone drill.

Kamara is regarded as an ascending player by NFL scouts.
He recorded 30 1/2 career sacks, 45 1/2 tackles for losses and five forced fumbles.
A team captain, Kamara was a second-team All-American selection and first-team all-conference selection.
He had 13 sacks and 17 tackles for losses last season.
A Newark, N.J., native, Kamara had 132 tackles, 11 sacks and six forced fumbles with five sacks in one game and was second-team all-state.
