HOUSTON – The Texans are signing former Cleveland Browns linebacker Jacob Phillips to a one-year contract, according to a league source.
Phillips, 25, is a former LSU standout and Browns third-round draft pick. The draft pick was originally acquired from the Texans in exchange for running back Duke Johnson in 2020.

Phillips has 88 career tackles, three sacks and five pass deflections.
At LSU, he led the team in tackles and declared early for the draft.
A Nashville native, Phillips was placed on injured reserve last season and in 2022 (pectoral) and 2021 (biceps).
